Are wood gazebos the better choice for your yard? Or would a vinyl gazebo be better?
As with fences, there are advantages and disadvantages to each type of gazebo. Much depends on what you want.
Advantages of Vinyl Gazebos
Vinyl gazebos can stay nice for a very long time without requiring a whole lot of maintenance. They look great but don’t require stains, seals, or treatment.
In fact, vinyl can be an excellent choice if you’re planning to house a hot tub in your gazebo. Vinyl gazebos stand up better to moisture than wood gazebos do.
You might also want a vinyl gazebo if you like to change up the look of your yard a lot. They’re relatively light and easy to move if you think you’re going to be doing that kind of rearrangement, so long as they’re set up to do that from the beginning.
Disadvantages of Vinyl Gazebos
Some people simply don’t like the look of vinyl gazebos since they don’t look as authentic as wood gazebos do. Believe it or not there are also fewer color choices available, and you can’t simply stain or paint vinyl the way you’d stain or paint wood.
Advantages of Wood Gazebos
Wood gazebos are both classy and traditional. They’re typically quite gorgeous, and you can easily alter the colors of your gazebo with a good oil-based stain.
You also get far more style options with a wood gazebo, as we can design them several different ways. Wooden gazebos are more durable, too.
Our wood gazebos, in particular, carry some distinct advantages since we craft them with the very finest Northern White Cedar. That means they carry a fine natural scent in addition to being naturally resistant to both insects and rot.
Disadvantages of Wood Gazebos
Like wooden fences, wooden gazebos require a fair amount of maintenance. They need to be cleaned, stained, and treated to keep them in good condition.
Making the Choice
