May 17th: Master Gardener Perennial Sale

Did you need a good reason to stop by the Wisconsin State Fair this year? Yes? Great, because the Master Gardeners of the Milwaukee County Extension are going to give you one.

They’ll be holding a huge perennial sale at the DNR tent from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM on May 17th. Mark your calenders, because this event is about much more than buying flowers.

It’s also about getting the chance to speak with the Master Gardeners themselves. You’ll get the chance to ask lots of questions about how to help your purchases thrive.

And while that clerk at your local nursery may know a thing or two, he or she won’t have anything on a trained Master Gardener.

It’s also a good chance to do some good while you work on beautifying your yard. That’s because proceeds from the sale will benefit UW-Extension Horticulture education programs.

These awesome programs don’t just teach people how to keep their plants alive. They also teach us how to work sustainably and responsibly with Wisconsin’s natural resources so we can all continue to enjoy the beautiful great outdoors.

The enclosure will be located at 84th St. and Greenfield Avenue. Be prepared – they’re accepting checks or cash only. There will be an ATM on site, but who wants to wait in that kind of a line?

We’re not Master Gardeners, but we can “plant” a custom-built, high-quality fence, gazebo, or pergola in your back yard. Don’t forget to enhance your landscape this spring or summer with any of these awesome features. If you live in Mequon, Fox Point, Whitefish Bay or anywhere else in the Milwaukee metro area, call us. We’ll be happy to give you a free estimate!
